Organizations

Share gateways, manage members, and keep team payments separate from your personal account.

An organization is a shared Bazantic account. Its members work on the same gateways and use the organization's billing details, payout accounts, and team spend controls. Your personal account still exists alongside it; use the account switcher at the top of the left sidebar to choose which account you are working in.

You can currently belong to one organization at a time. This limit includes organizations you create. If you receive an invitation while you already belong to an organization, leave your current organization before accepting it. The invitation will remain pending.

Create an organization

  1. Open the account switcher at the top of the left sidebar.
  2. Select Create organization.
  3. Enter the organization's name, then select Create organization.

The person who creates the organization becomes its first Owner. Once you belong to an organization, the account switcher replaces Create organization with Manage organization.

Roles

An organization has three roles.

Request a team spend grantYesYesNo

Manage API keys, billing, and organization detailsYesNoNo

Approve or decline team spend requestsYesNoNo

In short: Owners control the organization and its money, Operators run gateways, and Viewers have read-only access. Give someone the Owner role only if they should be able to manage members, credentials, and funds.

An organization must always have at least one Owner. The last Owner cannot leave, be removed, or be changed to another role. Promote another member to Owner first.

Invite someone

Only an Owner can send invitations.

  1. Open the account switcher and select Manage organization.
  2. Select Manage → beside the organization.
  3. In Invites, enter the person's email address and choose a role.
  4. Select Invite.

The invitation does not add the person automatically. They must sign in with the invited email, then accept or decline the invitation from Pending invitations on their dashboard. An Owner can revoke a pending invitation from the organization's Invites list.

You cannot invite an existing member again or send a second pending invitation to the same email. An organization can have up to 20 pending invitations; revoke an old one before sending another if the limit is reached.

Manage members

Open Manage organization, then select Manage → beside the organization. The Members section lists each person's role and join date.

Owners can change any member's role or remove a member. Removing a member ends their organization access immediately and revokes their pending or active organization spend grants. It does not recover funds that were already transferred to the member's personal balance through an approved spend grant.

Operators and Viewers can see the member list, but they cannot edit it.

Update organization details

Owners can change the organization's name, contact email, and address from Manage organization. The contact email is also used for the organization's billing profile. These organization details are not shown to Operators or Viewers in the current dashboard.

Manage payments

Bazantic keeps three kinds of payment settings separate:

  • Payout accounts receive gateway earnings and hold organization balances.
  • Billing holds the card Bazantic may charge for paid services.
  • Spend grants give a person or agent a capped amount for outgoing API payments.

Switch to the organization before changing any of these settings. The account name at the top of the sidebar shows which account is active.

Receive gateway payments

Open Account Balances in the left sidebar. An Owner or Operator can select New account to create a payout account. The first payout account becomes the default.

Each payout account has its own receiving address and balance. Owners can:

  • add funds;
  • rename an account;
  • make another account the default;
  • withdraw funds; and
  • archive an account that is no longer needed.

Each payout account authorizes its current Owners to withdraw funds. If an Owner joins or leaves, the authorization list can become out of date. An Owner who can already withdraw must select Update signers to update the list. A new Owner cannot update the list until an authorized Owner adds them.

A payout account cannot be archived while it still holds funds. If it is the default and another active account exists, make the other account the default first. The organization's last payout account also cannot be archived while the organization has an active or paused gateway. Withdraw the balance and retire those gateways first.

By default, gateways receive into the organization's default payout account. You can choose a different payout account when you create or edit a gateway. If that account is later archived, the gateway falls back to the organization's default.

Manage the card on file

Open your account menu, select Settings, and find Billing. Owners can add, replace, or remove the organization's card. Operators and Viewers can see the card details but cannot change them.

The card on file is separate from payout balances. Adding a card does not fund a payout account, and gateway earnings do not pay the card balance.

Make outgoing API payments

Organization spend uses capped team spend grants. The dashboard currently shows requests that have already been created, but it does not yet provide a form for creating one. When a request is waiting, an Owner reviews it under Manage organization and either approves or declines it. A single Owner may approve a request, including their own.

Approval moves the approved amount from the selected organization payout account to the requester's personal balance. Removing the member or revoking the grant stops further spending through that grant, but it cannot pull back money already moved to the personal balance.

Team spend grants currently support Base only. The web Playground is also personal: even when an organization is active, Playground payments come from the signed-in user's personal balance. Personal-account grants work differently and do not move the underlying balance; see Spend grants.

Transfer a personal gateway to an organization

You can transfer a gateway only from your personal account to an organization where you are an Owner. Transfers cannot be reversed.

Before transferring a dedicated gateway, create at least one payout account for the organization. Unified gateways do not require one because their payments settle to the Bazantic treasury.

  1. Switch to your personal account.
  2. Open the gateway.
  3. Open the gateway actions menu and select Transfer to organization….
  4. Choose the organization, review the consequences, then select Transfer.

The gateway keeps its URL and usage history, but ownership changes immediately:

  • your personal API keys lose write access;
  • the upstream credential becomes the organization's to rotate and is not shown again;
  • payouts switch to the organization's default payout account; and
  • the catalog listing is marked for re-sync.

Review any custom domain, payout-account choice, API keys, and catalog details after the transfer.

Leave an organization

Open Manage organization, select Manage →, then find yourself in Members and select Leave organization.

Leaving removes your access and revokes your organization spend grants. Funds already transferred to your personal balance stay there. If you are the last Owner, first promote another member to Owner; Bazantic will not allow the organization to be left without one.

Delete an organization

Organization deletion is not available yet. There is no deletion checklist or self-service delete action in the current release, and the final Owner cannot leave as a workaround.

You can remove other members, revoke invitations, retire the organization's gateways, withdraw and archive its payout accounts, and remove its card on file. These steps reduce the organization's active footprint, but they do not delete the organization or its history.

If you need an organization removed, contact support@bazantic.com. Support can confirm the available options for your account.
